Following its withdrawal from F1, from 2010 season BMW will concentrate on its Formula BMW Europe and Formula BMW Pacific series. Despite challenging economic conditions this year, the European Formula BMW series continued to maintain 26-strong grids in its second season, while Formula BMW Pacific has also benefited from integration of Formula BMW into the support bills of several Formula One Grands Prix, as attested to by a steadily increasing number of competitors.
Two former Formula BMW drivers will, though, receive the opportunity of experiencing Formula One from over the winter. During the three Young Driver Days planned by the BMW Sauber F1 Team between 1st and 3rd December at Jerez, Alexander Rossi and Esteban Gutierrez (right) will enjoy their first outings in an F1 car.
