Ahead of today's qualifying session the air temperature is 17 degrees C, while the track temperature is 33 degrees. It is now somewhat cloudy.

As was the case in FP2, this morning's session saw Antonelli set the pace suggesting that the Italian teenager might claim his second successive pole. Teammate Russell wasn't far behind though so we are expecting another Mercedes front-row lock-out.

The rest were almost a second behind, and it looks like McLaren and Ferrari will be fighting over the second and third rows, with Audi, RB and Red Bull scrapping over the front of the midfield.

Norris missed much of the first half of this morning's session with a battery issue, as reliability continues to be a problem.

Lawson leads the way as the pitlane opens, the kiwis followed by Lindblad, Stroll, Alonso and the Haas pair.

Lawson gets proceedings underway with a 31.785, but his teammate responds with a 31.634 and Ocon a 31.466.

Albon split's the RBs with a 31.776 as Sainz goes fifth, ahead of Bearman and Perez.

Piastri is the first of the big guns to head out, followed by his teammate and the Ferraris.

Piastri posts a 30.438 and Norris a 30.676.

Hamilton goes second with a 30.628 but Leclerc responds with a 30.078.

A 30.726 puts Verstappen fifth, until Hadjar goes fourth with a 30.662.

Last out are the Mercedes pair, Antonelli posting a 30.035 and Russell a 30.631, which puts the Briton fifth. He will not be happy with that.

A 30.542 puts Hulkenberg fifth, ahead of Hamilton and Russell, who complains that something "aerodynamical" doesn't "feel right". The Briton is also suffering oversteer.

Hamilton and his teammate trade fastest sectors, the Briton improving to third with a 30.309 while the Monegasque goes top with a 29.915.

As Hadjar begins his flying lap there is a long, long queue of drivers heading out of the pitlane.

Verstappen goes sixth, while Hadjar remains ninth.

Russell improves to second with a 29.967, 0.52s down on Leclerc.

Ocon goes twelfth, Bearman fifteenth, Sainz thirteenth and Lindblad twelfth.

Albon goes sixteenth, Lawson ninth, Hulkenberg sixth, and Bortoleto seventh.

Quickest in S2, Piastri improves to fourth as Gasly goes tenth.

Quickest is Leclerc, ahead of Russell, Antonelli, Piastri, Hamilton, Hulkenberg, Bortoleto, Norris, Verstappen and Gasly.

We lose Albon, Bearman, Perez, Bottas, Alonso and Stroll.

Albon sarcastically suggests that it is his driving style that prevented him progressing into Q2.

Antonelli gets Q2 underway, followed by Russell and the Ferraris and Verstappen.

The Italian posts a 29.774 while his teammate can only manage 30.117.

Hamilton is just 0.001s off Russell's time, while Leclerc goes second, 0.011s down on Antonelli.

Hadjar goes fifth and Verstappen sixth.

Lindblad goes seventh as Piastri goes quickest in S1.

Hulkenberg goes seventh with a 30.412 and Bortoleto third (30.093). Both Haas drivers on fresh rubber.

Gasly goes sixth but is demoted when Piastri crosses the line at 29.451, albeit on fresh rubber.

Norris can only manage fourth (29.795), the world champion also on fresh rubber.

Russell is first our for the final assault, and as he begins his flyer he is joined on track by the Ferrari pair.

Russell improves, but remains second, 0.316s off Piastri's pace, on fresh rubber!

As the Ferrari pair begin their flying laps, more drivers head out.

Antonelli doesn't look to be going out again.

Hamilton goes sixth while Leclerc goes top with a 29.303.

Russell insists that there is something wrong with his car. "We can't have lost this much pace," he says. "Have a look for everything!" he urges his team.

Verstappen goes ninth, but is it enough? Hadjar goes eighth.

Norris doesn't improve as Ocon goes eleventh, Gasly sixth, and Hulkenberg fails to improve.

Bortoleto goes eighth having gone quickest in S3.

Lindblad goes tenth, thereby dropping Verstappen into the danger zone.

A 29.048 puts Antonelli top, the Italian having gone out after all.

"I think there is something wrong with the car, mate," says Verstapepn, echoing Russell.

Quickest is Antonelli, ahead of Leclerc, Piastri, Hamilton, Russell, Norris, Gasly, Bortoleto and Hadjar.

We lose Verstappen, Ocon, Hulkenberg, Lawson, Colapinto and Sainz.
